About Me

This is a place where I write about life. My life. Or just random thoughts. I am a wife to a fantastic man, a teacher who is sometimes known as Hubcap. I’m a stay-at-home, homeschooling mom to four fab kids. Jewel is seven and loves all things pink and sparkly. She knows the difference between a pegasus, a unicorn, and an alicorn. She is in love with horses and, inexplicably, donkeys. Lane is four and is constantly in motion. She’s adorable, which sometimes makes up for her mischievous behavior. She is also in love with horses, but not donkeys. She’s very clear on that. Alex is three. Very three. He didn’t start out as part of our family, but we knew he was meant to be ours, so we grabbed him as soon as we could, which was at about fifteen months old. He is a giggling, screeching ball of energy. He loves superheroes, and he’s pretty sure he is one. Holly is two. She is somehow shy, spunky, loud, sensitive, curious, funny, sweet, cuddly, and cantankerous… all at the same time. All together we’re a pretty crazy crew, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I’m weird, and most of the time I feel like I’m a bit backward from everyone else, but I kind of like it that way. I can be slightly socially awkward. I’m clumsy, not because I’m uncoordinated, but because my mind is always somewhere else. I write fiction for middle grades and young adults. I love words, permaculture, essential oils, homeschooling, and counter-culture in general. Oh, and bacon. I love bacon. I don’t like wearing shoes. I’m on a quest to change our family culture from standard American consumers into healthy, happy hippies.

My posts here will sometimes have to do with that quest, and sometimes they won’t. Mostly won’t. So explore and have fun.
